The Republic of Ireland v Switzerland

0 : 0
Ireland limp out of the Qualifiers with a dire pashionless draw!
Memories of Basel in October 2003 when Ireland crashed out of the Euro 2004 qualifiers with one of their worst performances in years. Although unbeaten in this latest game the Irish display was tepid and Ireland seemed to lack a real will to win. A draw was enough to see the Swiss through to the qualifier.
Switzerland subsequently crashed out of Euro 2004 with only one point! Both sides won their opening games, Ireland beat Cyprus 3-0 and Switzerland beat the Faroe Islands 6-0.Teams:
