Day 1 in Laussane, after a few drinks - purely to acclimatise
to the Swiss prices, Darren decides to have some local dishes, a Kebab! He also
tries to converse with the locals "Bon jour, is it possible to get a
Kebab". Darren has been awarded the Del Boy Award for Conversational French. |
Continuing to sample Swiss culture the lads retire to a local
German bar with the Limerick barman and the Swiss students who challenge us to singing
competition, with any Irish song we choose! |
Yet another pint, another bar! |
Another Irish ritual exported to Switzerland, a trip to McD's
to make up for the lack of food during the day. |
Day 2 - and a need to do some tourist things, a few photos
and most importantly some fresh air. The lads in typical fashion visit the Museum shop,
thus avoiding paying the entrance fee! |
Afternoon and time for a pint. The arrival of Paul means that
the full supply of pint glasses, all 6 of them, are completely utilised by the Irish guys!
|
You're in the army now! The really worrying thing is that the
soldiers went on duty after leaving the pub! |
Darran goes pole dancing!! Well the young lady is Polish. |
Day 3 - Arrive in Basel. Once again a nice photo opportunity
on the way to the pub! |
Cafe Rio becomes base camp, hey who are those guys looking at
us through the looking glass? |
Is that Alpay in his mother's cardigan? |
Once again the friendly Irish make friends wherever we go. |
Day 4 - Match Day, the boys are pensive by the banks of the
Rhine. |
As the tension rises the face paint is applied. |
The boys at the game, non-alcoholic beer in hand and
expectations high! |
Row 8, best seats in the house!
The Boy's as seen in The Sunday Times, The Sunday World and The Star. |
We may have lost the match but we were not going to lose
the party! |
 |
Day 5 - Montreaux - The Last Day. Video duke box day where
80's music never dies. Pints at the English pub where the owner buys us a round because
the Irish who watched the match in his pub were well behaved and it was very lucrative!
Once again more the Irish make more friends and Freddie joins the Boy's in Green. |
